What is it with a face that attracts me to it? Not the one that went through the fairy fingers of a make-up artist, for that is a face delicately made to sell an image.

What I mean are faces in the streets that I see everyday. The plain and unrehearsed -the plump and the skinny, the one with shifty eyes, the one with the hundred yards stare, the stern and the tease, the bashful and the bold, the frank and the furtive, the fragile and the firm, the tense, the calm. Each one a narrative waiting to happen.

You can’t help but try to read them sometimes.

fate, is a curious creature

i shall let my post's title do (all) the talking. God's plan for us (which we might sometimes call Fate) is simply incomprehensible, indescribable, and incredible.

when i hear this song,i imagine them in the cobbled streets of paris on a crisp night.
the music rising to a crescendo and then a short verse replaying in different or slowly altering electronic notes.
then at 6:14 minutes, his voice sails in as the music subsides into a calmer, quieter pace.

magical.

Minced Keys From The Market

sometimes,i think it'd do people some good to stop trying so hard.at being individualistic,intelligent,quirky,eccentric,literary...just sit back and enjoy the ride.
enjoy yourself.oh.right.that came out wrong.

speaking of rides.i remember how teo,our english/literature teacher used to highlight writing styles of a particular few in class back in 2007.let's see,it was gretl, victoria, alicia and i can't remember who else.her comments for theirs were pretty much music to the ears but when she came to mine i almost exploded cos she said'when i read rachael's essays,i feel like she's taking me on a nice, cool ride'.which thinking back now isn't such a bad thing.har!har!wise mrs. teoism, get some rest.sit back and enjoy the ride.

speaking of sitting back and enjoying the ride.i'm down to a mere week to complete tess of the d'urbevilles.see?can't even spell the title cos i haven't been picking it up as often as i should because my attention span is diminishing to that of a particular famous golfer's with regard to women.bad joke.i'm flying between the english patient(such rich descriptions)and kafka on the shore(ponder and live a whole other life in bed).both because they're not examined and thus so much more enticing.

hardy,i will not let you down within the next 7 days.so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Which Dreams Of?

  • 31st Dec, 2009 at 11:03 AM

Sometimes when I look at you, I feel I'm gazing at a distant star.
It's dazzling, but the light is from tens of thousands of years ago.
Maybe the star doesn't even exist any more. Yet sometimes that light seems more real to me than anything.

feliz 2010,friends and fiends.
